About Sabrina
Sabrina is a semi-permanent make-up artist and bridal hair and make-up artist based at SHY in Lewes. She has worked across theatre, film, weddings and private appointments for more than sixteen years, and takes a thoughtful, natural approach to every face. The aim is simple: to help you look like yourself, only more rested, defined and ready for the day ahead.
A background in theatre and film
Her theatre background taught Sabrina to look at every detail in relation to the face as a whole. Hair must hold through movement, heat and costume changes; make-up must read under different lights and at different distances. Film, television and private work brought a more intimate focus to skin, expression and proportion.
Features, movement and expression
Sabrina considers the relationship between brow, skin, hair, colour and expression. The work is shaped by the features already there, the way they move and the way the person usually presents themselves.
Qualifications and specialist practice
Sabrina holds VTCT Level 4 qualifications in Microblading and Micropigmentation. Her specialist appointments include Microblading, Nano Brows, Lip Blush and Lash Enhancement, alongside Lash Lifts, Brow Lamination, shaping and tinting.
Founder of SHY
Sabrina founded SHY on Lewes High Street as a studio for beauty, wellbeing and adornment. It brings together resident artists, therapists and independent practitioners, alongside retail, teaching, events and collaborations.
Education and mentoring
Sabrina teaches Microblading, Lash Lifts and Brow Lamination, with theory, demonstration and supervised practice connecting the technique to the decisions behind it. Private mentoring draws on both an artist’s working experience and the process of building SHY. Course and mentoring details are on the education page.
